I am running MS Windows Server 2003 64 Bit system
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+
512 MB Ram
G-Force 5500 Graphics Card

The "Computer Guy" where i bought this thing says this 64 bit system is faster and better for gaming and other 3D applications,of which i have a lot of...maybe so,but he failed to tell me (or he didn't know) that i cant use my web-cam,i can't use my printer,i cant use my Digital Camera, and i can't use some of the 3D software i like to use.

He says he can "put it back" to 32 Bit system if i buy the disk.

My Question is "Should i have that done, or just get another PC and sell this one to yet another unsuspecting gamer.(like he suggested).

More info on this is apprecieted..Thanx

You could have consulted the "geeks" here first. The "Computer Guy" pulled a fast one on you.

You've got a fast OS (for server application), on a not so fast processor mounted on an aging platform w/ AGP graphics slot and w/ a slow (4 pixel pipeline) graphics card.

To make your PC better and enjoyable for gaming, install Win XP (lots of 32 bit drivers out there), increase RAM to 1Gb and replace that graphics card w/ a Nvidia 7300GT AGP.

Just install a Windows XP 32 bit operating system.
Also, you sure don't have very much ram for gaming, 512MB is almost bare minimum for XP, and for Server 2003.

It's only the Operating System that's holding you back, it's a 64bit OS. Just change to Windows 2000 or XP (not the 64bit XP). Talk to his manager, and tell him you were in-advisably talked into getting the 64bit OS.

32Bit windows can run on 64bit platform.
You can install a 32bit version Windows if you have one.

Or you can try to find 64bit version device driver for your printer, webcam or other hardware from the vendor's website.

I don't think it is a good idea to see a pc for software problem.
