Some can influence it, but none will truly bring on labour. Sex - orgasm stimulates contractions. If labour is close, they could lead to real contractions. Also, semen contains prostaglandins, a hormone known to ripen the cervix. In fact, most medical inductions start with using a synthetic form of prostaglandins. Pineapple - contains an enzyme said to ripen the cervix. Research tells us that you would have to eat 7 whole fresh pineapples to make the slightest difference, and even then it's only if labour is very close. It'll more likely give you really bad heartburn. Walking - yes, the added pressure and movement around the pelvis can help baby engage and move things along. No guarantees though. Nipple stimulation - stimulates the release of ocytocin, causes contractions which may continue when you stop. Only if labour is close. This method is said to lead to a far more difficult and painful labour, so is not recommended. Castor oil/spicy foods/bowel irritation - Yep, if your uterus is ready for it, bowel spasms can cause contractions. Not the best way to do it - you'll more likely be dehydrated, which can (and does) lead to a very difficult labour. This increases the risk of c section and other labour and birth complications. Raspberry leaf tea - will not induce labour. It causes mild contractions, which essentially tone the uterus in preparation. It can lead to shorter and more efficient labour. Recommended, but not for the purpose of home induction. Accupuncture/accupressure/reflexology - all have reasonably high success rates. I never tried it, but I wish I did.

Itchy feet means you're bored with your present circumstances and you want to try something new. Take a walk on the wild side. It will do you (and your feet) a lot of good.

hopefully none of the old wives tails about itches are true because my left hand often itches and no matter how hard i scratch it, it won't go away. same with my feet. sometimes i get an itch underneath a callus (nasty nasty!) and it drives me insane because the skin is so tough i can't get to it.
