Nope. When I was in high school, my mom liked to tell me I was too stupid for college. Among other things. Eventually, I dropped out. She inherited a quarter of a million bucks some years later, never gave me a dime. Spent it on crap.
I still haven't been to college or university. My controlling husband always came up with some excuse why he couldn't pay for it but needed to buy more toys for himself. That's changing this fall. I'm very bitter about it, actually.

No, they didn't. I had to pay my whole way. My parents made too much for them to pay for college for me, and I couldn't get financial aid because they made too much. I had to room with a friend in a crummy apartment, work 2 jobs, babysit in my spare time, and go on work study just to finish school. But I am glad that I did it because I now make more than my parents ever will!

Nope. I waited to go until I could afford it myself. After 5yrs in the US Air Force and 5 yrs as an apprentice electrician, I was soon making enough dough for night classes. Plus, the GI Bill sent me a sweet check, too.

I am a orphan - I paid for most of my college by working three jobs. But the only nice things about being ward of state was that I did get financial aide for a year.

No, they said if you want something pay for it yourself.
I have had to work hard for everything in my life, nothing was ever handed to me on a silver platter, I guess that is why I appreciate things that much more today.
Kids now days too many of them are handed too much without having to work for it and they just think the world owes them. These kids now days just don't know how good and easy they have things today.
To all who are working hard out there to get them self threw school I wish you all the best, you will be rewarded for it. Good luck

Man I wish..... Paying for school is the best diet I have been on in awhile. That's because the food money is going towards getting back and forth to school. If your parents are paying for school you should thank them for it right now!@

Yes, and the State took care of the rest. That's what's done in our state if you make good grades in high school, they will pay your college tuition
