Remember, Liberals think the US is the big imperialist thug who is picking on those poor radical Muslims over there. Creating terrorists, I believe is the mantra.
Using that approach, if we leave them alone, they leave us alone.
And they are willing to gamble all of our lives on it. At what point do they see the Iran-nuke connection?

3300 American soldiers dead over 4 years in Iraq
3300 American civilians dead in one day on 9/11
Reagan secret negotiations? Haliburton profiteering? Hey look! Isn't that Elvis?
Summing up all of the violence in Iraq as Sectarian Civil Warfare is laughable. Who really believes that crap? How do Al Qaeda roadside bombs support this wacky theory?
Wondermom, to answer your legitimate question, If we lose in Iraq, Al Qaeda will take it over and it will become like another Afghanistan launching complex and expensive attacks against us as before.
War for oil? We don't get any oil from Iraq, never have. If it were a war for oil, why not just drill ANWR?

Another person who capitalizes "liberal"?
Whatever.
Anyway, troops coming home will end the war for Americans. Why? Because what is occurring is an IRAQI CIVIL WAR, independent of the presence or absence of terrorists. Our own intelligence services put the number of Al Qaeda terrorists operating in Iraq at a max of 2,000 - two thousand people are NOT causing the carnage that is Iraq.
Now here's one for YOU - what makes conservatives (small c, see?) think that we are somehow keeping terrorists from coming to the US by fighting in Iraq?
Do you seriously think that some terrorist is stuck in Baghdad crying, "For the love of Allah, I would go to the US if I weren't stuck here having to detonate IEDs!"? If that were true, then how did the terrorists reach and bomb Madrid when the Spaniards were still in Iraq?
You cons never have an answer for that one.

No, secret negotiations is what REagan did, remember? I do. Liberals never said that withdrawing troops would end the war. We said that it will more than likely escalate the war but only temperarily. BTW, the Pentagon said this too. It's a civil war over there. And, why should we be fighting Iraq's civil war?

With Iraq in a sectional Civil War, the theory in my mind is that we leave and the Sunni terrorists will fight the Shiite terrorists, and they'll blow themselves up. Plus the fact that no one has ever mentioned removing troops from Afghanistan where the REAL front in the War on Terror is, not Iraq. That is where Osama is, and if he is captured, the war will end as Al Qaeda would lose its leader.

It's not that we think terrorism will end. Just like if we win the war in Iraq what's to prevent them from coming into America and attacking us again. Fact is that Al Quida is all over not just in Iraq. So do we spend the rest of history fighting in the middle east in order not to be attacked again on US soil?? How many years can we logically afford to fight the war in Iraq???

because we all know there was never any trouble in the middle east until the US got involved. We are the only reason for all the problems there. There were never any terrorist, Saddam was a real humanitarian, and it was sunny days until we went and messed things all up, so if we leave it should return to that right????:)

That is not what "Liberals" "believe". American soldiers and civilians in IRAQ are just easy targets for muslim fanatical assasins.
If it was a war that with an enemy you could do something with, with a government that wanted something in either victory or defeat, there would be a point in fighting.
The money spent on war profiteering to Halliburton could be better spent strengthening America's defenses anywhere but Iraq.
