He seems like a nice, intelligent person. He is a very liberal democrat so he doesn't deserve much appeal based on his politics which is what matters in a politician.

Not here - he is way too liberal for me.
Plus he paid the race card forgetting he has a white Mother & raised by an Indonesian step father for several years.
You can not play the "Afro American" card with that ancestry.
Why not the mutli cultrual card? That I could go for.
His beliefs are much more radical than most people realize.
I read his book & made my decision - not a chance in this world.

That's not really the base to which he appeals. He's a big-spending, big-government, control freak liberal -- with a nice smile and an intelligent demeanor.

(Please note that he is not a big-spending, big-government, control freak conservative, which is just about the same thing, in the final analysis.)

*Yawn* If the idiots elect ol Osama it'll prove they are as dumb as the rest of us have said over the years. And I still believe ol HIllarity is going to run out and announce ol Slick WIlly as her VP if she gets the nod. I'm not too worried though, Dems are really good at self destructing look how little they've accomplished in congress :).

very little once folks really look at his qualifications, which are nil. No leadership experience at all, short term congressional member with no remarkable record. etc.
