That is at the whim of the post office and the clerk who sorts the mail. I have gotten mail addressed to me but with the wrong zip code, the wrong house number, the wrong state, or the wrong spelling of my name. I have also gotten mail addressed to other people with the same house number on a different street or to other people whose name and address have nothing to do with mine.

If you are lucky your mail will usually get through but sooner or later some will not get to you.

They go by the address.

A carrier is required to attempt delivery if he/she does not recognize the name.
