check and see if you RAM is situated snugly where its supposed to be... other than that, i would say that you fried something, if it is possible do you remember doing anything out of the ordinary before it happened?

Try reseating your graphics card if you have one.

If nothing happens, try running your PC w/ bare minimum. Detach connectors to the CD drive, hard drive and the floppy drive. Without them, you should at least be able to enter BIOS (by pressing F1 or Del). If PC turns on, shutdown and reconnect one device at a time.

If it is still a black screen, it could be a motherboard problem.

Happened to me too! It's fried. I actually had Dell's customer service talk me into getting the computer back to life. not sure if you have a warranty or not but I would call customer service for the computer you own. Good luck!

by the way, how are you typing if it's fried. hmmm....

Check your RAM (memory) and make sure they are all secure in their slots also check to see if your hard drive is starting both of these will cause the computer to not start. Good Luck

Do you have a cd-rom in your cd or dvd drive? It could be trying to start off of that instead of your hard drive.

And make sure your monitor power supply is on too.

Either your motherboard or your CPU have fried. Happened to me a few months back.
