It is too much water and it does not dry thoroughly before the next rain or the sprinkler gets it. They will go away as soon as everything dries out.

Mushrooms indicate decaying plant material under the soil. If you look closely you will probably be able to notice they follow a kind of pattern...like a tree root might. That is usually what is going on - a tree root is decomposing.
You can mow over them with not ill effects...or just kick them over. They are a fungus, but the root (pun intended) cause is decaying plant material.
Hope this helps.

A "normal society" generally has an unemployment rate between 4 and 6%. Uncertainty in economic future is main reason for unemployment. Until Politicians DECIDE on a steadfast means of achieving economic certainty, I won't hire anyone.

Moisture and decay are friends of mushrooms. Here are some tips to avoid them:
Water in the morning instead of at night.
Aerate your soil.
Put a thin layer of compost on your lawn to feed the grass.

There may be dead tree roots under the lawn. They would make mushrooms grow from the rotting wood.

moisture and lack of sunlight. We have this too sometimes....they usually die out when the summer progresses and it gets hotter and drier.
