Sgt G:

From someone who is serving their 4th tour of duty (and more to come), you might want to rethink that statement. If we were really *winning* the war on terror--why aren't you home yet?

PS--I don't have access to CNN. Hadn't had cable since 2002.

Firefly:

After 6 six years of "fighting", we haven't made the world any safer than it is now. Or have you forgotten a recent study report which points to an INCREASE in terror attacks from last year--most of them in Iraq?

Can you tell me how we are "succeeding" in stopping terrorism cold?

BTW: Where is OBL? Why hasn't AQ been completely destroyed? Why aren't we occupting the Phillipines and rooting out terrorism there?

Why aren't we in other countries who sponsor or encourage the proliferation of terror groups within its own borders?

Yeah, we capture a few, we kill a few, but overall, do you think we are really making all that much of a difference?

The war on drugs should've told you this long ago: You can't defeat an ideology with military force and expect everything to be okay the next, or the next year, or ten years down the road.

That's not how terrorism functions or works in the real world.

This stupid 'war on terror' has been an abject failure from the very beginning. It's a sham, and a terrible waste of taxpayers' money. The Department of Homeland Security (something that had to be stolen from Hitler) is a joke - a billion-dollar boondoggle. There is no "success" - simply a bunch of morons running around pretending like they actually know what they're doing. -RKO- 05/08/07

Yes; we have a war on terror; yet an open border where anyone and anything can cross over. Our ports susceptible to dirty bombs, and we only target less than 1%, because of limitation of manpower. Communist China is our largest import or; and has less scrutiny than any other country; yet lately they have poisoned our pets, live stock, and now citizens.

Apparently the Middle-East is the only producers of terrorist.

I’m sure they are putting a drape of positive propaganda over it to overshadow the negative things. Their party has to paint a good picture for re-elections along to show a majority of people who disagree with the war that its going good.

According to the people fighting the war NO!
Ask a Soldier if you want the real answer, cause the media has an agenda and it is NOT TO WIN.
