A few weeks ago i skipped the "inactive" week of birth control because i didnt want to have my period this month (I was going camping...) Ive done this before with doctor approval.. so i didnt think twice.

Anyways, It worked for a few days but about 5 days into the second round of "active" pills.. I started having my "period" and its lasted 11 days...... (usually its around 5)

Ladies... obviously if this continues i need to see the doctor.. but has anyone ever experienced this? Did i just mess with my hormones so my bodys freaking out? Should i be worried? At what point should i call the doctor? Guys, if you read this... i warned you...

Sounds like breakthrough bleeding, which is pretty common when you skip your inactives, especially on the tri cyclen family of pills. It's much easier to do that on the regular pills as the hormone levels don't change each week.

If it persists, definitely check with your Doc.

Yes that is very typical. I have been doing continuous therapy (skipping the placebo pills except every 3rd pill pack) and it takes a few months for your body to catch on. For a while, you will still get bleeding sometimes, and for me it has been a few days longer than normal. But if your flow is also quite heavy, then I would suggest talking to your doctor, because usually this breakthrough bleeding is lighter.

how often have you skipped the placebo pills? it really sounds like you've had breakthrough bleeding. light bleeding, but not so much like a period. you should go to the doctor and get checked out to make sure nothing else is wrong.

oh yess, however I experienced this like after the third straight month. If you are uncomfortable about whether you could be pregnant or not then go to the dr. However, I had the same extended period and it sucked, so I only limit myself to maybe one month only. So, yea your body is probably fighting you back, lol
