When you get down to it each state votes at the national convention for the candidate. It's the method that each state uses to determine who they will vote for. Some states have caucuses that determine the candidate they will vote for. Other states have primary elections and allow the people to decide who will be the candidate they will vote for. In either case only the people in the same party as the candidates are allowed to vote. In caucuses I believe the local party groups send a representative to the state level caucus to cast the vote. Some states split their votes for different candidates but you don't see that very much.

The voters elect the President on the state level and the electoral college elects the President on the national level.

VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees blog and know if your candidate will likely win.

Nobody elects the candidates. The politicians only have to meet certain qualifications and file papers to become candidates.

We vote for the candidates.......then at the Democratic and Republican Conventions the parties nominate who they want to represent them as candidate for President. Each state gives their votes the to the candidates they chose. Go to the Web and look up the "Electoral College," that would be easier than me trying to explain it to you.
