Yes and no. He did balance the budget and was able to get some social programs started that (and conservatives will argue this) were actually effective in reducing poverty. He did escalate the Viet Nam War, leaving President Nixon to pick up the pieces and take the blame for the mistakes LBJ made. Johnson was also able to keep the space program going, even though we were paying for social programs, the space program, and the Viet Nam War all at the same time.

He is the first in a line of REALLY BAD PRESIDENTS bought and paid for by the Military-Industrial complex Eisenhower warned us about and Kennedy tried to put out of business.

LBJ is so far the only president put in office by a coup de tat which the murder of JFK was. He was integrally involved in the Kennedy assassination and then murdered 65,000 American soldiers while helping to put trillions into the pockets of the very people who are still running things.

I thought LBJ was a rat bastard in the 1960's and now that all of the evidence has come out about the Texas Mafia's (including the Bush clan) involvement in the Kennedy assassination I can see there is virtually no difference between LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Bush I, Clinton and Bush II they are all puppets of a shadow government.

Hey, what ever happened to Johnson's "Great Society"?
(Welfare dependency, huge increases in out-of wedlock births, skyrocketing crime rates, housing projects, decline of the black community, etc., etc., etc.)

Nice job Lyndon.
