Um...I'm a conservative, and while I think that there is a time and place for corporal punishment, I don't think anyone should ever be forced to go to church....heck, I work every Sunday, so I can't go myself. I think sometimes people think that just because the radical conservatives are the most publicized (controversy is wonderful for television and newpapers), that every single conservative thinks the same. Does every single liberal agree on every single issue? No. It's the same with conservatives.....and I hate to tell you....we're here to stay.

I was in school in the 60s and Kids were not made to go to church by the School Systems. They did depend respect and there were consequences if not given. We didn't go half naked to school and when we got a spat on the leg we deserved it and they had permission from our parents.Continue stopping this and there will be less and less teachers. I sure would not want to teach a child when i could do nothing when they trip you or say No or ignore you.I have seen many teachers leave saying they could not take it any longer And the parents are called they always take to side of the child..

Well having been a liberal who changed to conservative, I can tell you this much. YOur depiction of Conservatives is wrong.
What conservatives want, and what Liberals used to want was that people took responsibility for themselves and that our country stood up against tyrants and dictators who slaughtered people.
Somewhere along the way it all changed.
Conservatives do not want children abused, just disciplined.
I went to a Catholic School. Nuns and Priests and Lay teachers were allowed to swat our rear ends, slap our hands and in general make us behave. The same went on in Public Schools.
Today that no longer applies.. EXCEPT IN private religious schools.
Can you tell me why no school shooting has ever occurred in a Parochial or Private School? (Excluding the invasion of the Quaker School in Pennsylvania, which was not a shooting by a student?)
Conservatives do NOT want to force you to go to church... I have NEVER heard of any conservative saying that.
Conservatives want the same thing as liberals, but are willing to do the work to make it happen.
Conservatives are more focused on the goal, and are too busy working to demonstrate and raise hell about minor problems.
Conservatives want people to decide, Liberals want the Government to make their decisions.
Your depiction of conservatives sounds like it was given to you by 5th grade school teacher or a public school liberal.
Liberals need conservatives.. conservatives make up about 90% of the military and are the first to step up to fight for the country.
IF I was a liberal I would take offense at your depiction.. as a conservative I am laughing at it.

.It's possible you don't understand conservatism. Most of us are taught that conservatism is bad because unionized teachers are against it and so are almost every media outlet. Start with an open mind and listen to conservative talk radio. Actually listen to what they are saying, think about it and then make up your mind for yourself if it really is bad. An example of conservatism is not raising taxes. Instead we lower taxes so people have more money to spend and we end up with a lot of tax money because there is more spending and it helps the economy, if we just keep raising taxes small business can't survive so we lay people off, people stop spending and the economy goes down the tube. This is just one example that I think is easy to understand. Good luck with your search

What in the hell are you talking about? Nobody is wanting to force you to put some kind of moral structure into your life. In regards to teachers being able to swat kids that deserve, I think it should be brought back. If I had kids in school today and they were not getting an education because of your little ba$tard, I would sue you. You cannot stop conservatism, we chose not to become a brain dead lack of moral mutants as you obviously have. Some people care about their children and want to make them into a good citizen and not a self involved drain on society.

Okay, teachers putting hands on kids? Few people are in favor of that. Conservatives are in favor of child rearing being returned to the parents, as opposed to government schools trying to raise them. When did the government ever force children to go to church services? That is up to the parents. And I'm curious what the "host of other things" includes. Please enlighten me.

properly, the present crop of Republicans have strayed a ideas outdoors of the conservative type of governance. that would not substitute the definition of conservatism, in hassle-free words highlights the choose for more effective politicians. The definition of Conservatism, encompassing all its thoughts put in its least complicated style, is this: “holding the rights of the fellow antagonistic to the trespasses of authorities, and the trespasses of others.”

At least back then some kids had respect for people, unlike now. Wondering why things like Columbine, VA Tech and the like happen?? Because we have taken God out of our schools. And personally as a Conservative I see that as a bad thing. I guess you don't!

man, I'm no Sigmund Freud, but it sounds like you have issues with your parents! or at least authority figures. are you a Lib or an Anarchist, or maybe 15 years old? a little discipline and knowledge of religion never hurt anyone. you can stop it by growing up. none of these things you mention ever harmed anyone, with the possible exception of maybe Damion in the Omen, but that was a movie!

Unfortunately, the constitution protects buffoons even if you disagree with the things they say. Just wait, when the economy crashes just like during the depression era of the 20's they will start jumping out of windows because their money will be lost.
