General Motors.
While making a decision is what you hope to do, making a bad decision is not the worst thing to do. Making NO decision is the worst mistake a manager can make.

If you make a bad decision, you always have the opportunty to learn from it.

The tragedy here is, gm was the world's largest company, it made great cars but along the way, it screwed up big time.

Based on this link,GM was great in pointing fingers. Fine. youidentify as problem, but you haveto o something about it.

Check out AT&T's recent (within the last 12 months) decision to sell part of their company services to another company.
See how their stock fell off in value following this decision. This was a drastic drop.
Then see how AT stock has risen once again to almost catch up with what the value was before the company split.
You could draw a conclusion that, whereas it at first seemed a risky maneuver, it then proved a good decision for the company and the stock holders.
To do research on AT&T, just type AT Stock into Google and visit some of the free information you can gather from stock brokerage sites.
Choose the ones that let you access charts for free - there are many of those!
Then do a little chart of your own, illustrating how AT Stock fell drastically in the market following the split (I believe it was near September of '06), and how the stock has been rising again in the meantime.
Seems like a good example of how to track a large company decision by following their stock values.
Good luck with your homework!
