What is your opinion of the patriot act? Did it help with apprehending the terrorists involved in the plot with Ft. Dix? I have my own opinions but I am curious to see what everyone else thinks, and please lets try and keep the answers on an intellectual level.

I know that the wiretaps eventually led to their capture, I just want everyone's opinions on whether or not they think it is effective enough to be used.

I support the patriot act. I do not think it infringes on my constitutional rights and I have nothing to hide. If it even prevents one terror attack (which it already has) I think it is worth it.

It was my understanding that a wire tap lead to their capture, so it was a direct result of the patriot act.
