Media player doesn't work, Green Screen?

on yahoo's featured videos and several others, my media player doesn't play the video (I think its trying to run windows media player). Instead, I get an ugly green screen. What can I do about it?

Sounds like it could be a missing codec. Try installing ACE Mega Codecs Pack. It's a free download. What type of video files are you trying to view? MPG, AVI, WMV, QuickTime..etc.? I've had problems with WMP before, I had to install a patch, also in Firefox there is a patch to view WMV files, I believe.
