The catalytic converter may be plugged; goes 45mph (was only 15!). The exhaust is barely warm (it putt-putts); the battery won't hold a charge; tonight the fuse box was clicking. Is it fixable? There's 160,000 miles on it. Never had engine trouble. Help! Any honest opinions? Thanks!

Sounds like two different issues...the converter sounds like it's plugged but why would it be? has it been running rich? check engine lite on? oxygen sensor bad? You can replace the converter but unless you solve why it plugged, you'll be buying another one soon. The battery problem sounds like a slow drain or short circuit somewhere....see if you can tell what was clicking in the fuse box--may be related to the drain, may not but have it tested by a mechanic......Paul

ok the best thing you can do is check spark plugs and wires change oil and see if it still putt putts if so it could be the timeing or the cadalytic converter oh and engine problems always start some where

make someone to check for ,plugged tail pipe, not the catalytic.
looks like somebody stuffed it .

the fuses box was clicking due to low amps( one relay working with low amps).,

and the battery is neglecting from Your part.
