My ex and I have joint custody but he has primary. She got in trouble Monday at school for talking and passing notes. He is now saying she is uncontrolable and wants to send her to military school. I want to bring her to my house and he will not allow it. Her was very abusive with me and I hope and pray that the cycle does not continue. If I take him back to court an attorney stated it would take up to 3 years and $20,000 to gain full custody. What shall I do? He is impossible to reason with.

First off if you can prove he is hurting her then you can get her second I would talk to a second attorney because I don't think its right to have to pay that much to get her unless you were abusive to her, not saying you were but sometimes that happens. Generally judges give custody to the moms no matter what...

Whichever school that has the better academic program is where she belongs - public, private ... wherever ! THAT is what you should be focusing on, not this stupid power play with your kid in between you two. LOOK AT THE PROGRAMS at each school, and whoever has higher test scores gets my vote. Other considerations are her extra-cirricular activities. Does she play a musical instrument, or is she more athletically inclined? If one of the schools has a strong musical program, then maybe that is a better fit, or if one of them is more sports oriented and she likes sports, send her there. You are BOTH missing the point. She should go to the best school you can send her to. PUBLIC or PRIVATE shouldn't even matter. GET A GRIP !!!

For the sake of your child take him back to court immediately. You can ask for an award of attorney fees against him.
Look closely at your decree. What does it say about educational decisions? You may have some rights now. Check with your attorney. And, tell the ex to lighten up or she will bolt on him.

Tell your attourney to do the job he/she is getting paid to do. I don't know HOW he got primary custody to begin with IF he was abusive towards you, the court doesn't usually award primary custody to an abuser.

How did he get primary custody and he was abusive to you? You let your daughter go live with her abusive father? Shame on you!!!

Do everything in your power and money to get her back. We can't put a price on our children's future!!
