No, it's not.

The noise is from the anus more than the cheeks. If the noise was from the cheeks, people would never haave silent farts unless they had no butt cheeks.

And I've heard loads of dog farts.

Beans make louder farts.
Steak makes smellier farts.

This is sooo untrue! I have an Alsatian and his farts are VERY loud! I think it is something to do with the gas and the force at which it is expelled from the anus and not a matter if one had butt cheeks or not, so don't quote me on that bit. But dogs can have loud farts! haha

Interesting topic for the biology class...hard to believe it. Specially because I had a dog that farted quite loudly, and your teacher is right: he didn't have butt cheeks.
NOTE:i mean, the only thing he is right about is that dogs do not have but cheeks as we do.

no it is not a dogs farts are silent and deadly because the sphincter is to weak in a dog to hold it in the make that odd sound and so it sounds like shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh pssss lol hope this helps
p.s. the sound isn't because of your buttcheeks vibrating

No. The loudness is due to variance in pressure, or some like reason.
