My friend and I were just talking about this subject, and we did not know how to tell the difference (we were talking about this because of our science experiment).

Frogs and toads are both amphibians and they are similar in many ways, but they are also different in a few ways.

Generally, frogs spend most of their lives in or near water. Toads on the other hand, get out on land a little more and find their way into gardens and yards. Frogs also usually have moist slimy skin, while toads have dry bumpy skin. That is usually the best way to tell them apart.

By the way frog eggs are found in a mass while toad eggs are more in a chain. And, just so you know, toads cannot give you warts.

Frogs are water dwelling animals, toads are land based. Frogs have smooth skin, toads have bumpy skin. Frogs have longer legs than toads, in general, because they are better jumpers. Toads are usually more rotund in appearance.

a toad has dryish skin, kinda bumpy and hops around your yard and pees on you when you pick it up. A frog has slick skin, needs to be in or near water and a bull frog are the kinds that people eat their legs, they are big and live in ponds, swamps, etc.
