I absolutely love "Sometimes in April"
It takes on the Rwandan genocide of 1994 with a story that incorporates both the big picture and a drama about a specific family.
Along with a number of books about the horrifying events that left upwards of 1 million people dead, several documentaries and the Oscar-nominated film "Hotel Rwanda" already have brought Rwanda to the screen.
The story is split between two Aprils, in 2004 and 1994, and tells the experiences of Augustin Muganza. Peck contrives the makeup of his family in such a way that he can include as many horror stories as possible. Thus, Augustin is a Hutu army officer, but his wife is Tutsi. His brother Honore works at a radio station known as "hate radio" that broadcasts a call to arms for Hutus to slaughter Tutsis during the three-month carnage. And Augustin's girlfriend in 2004, Martine , teaches at a Catholic girls school in 1994, which one of his daughters attends.
The film captures the tensions and fears as chaos rages in the streets and includes more than enough sequences of mass murder to get across the point that madness gripped the nation.
Watch it because you won't be disapointed.

The Lion in Winter (1968)
You really need to watch it to understand why. Every single line is carefully planned and spoken and laid, the timing is superb, the drama is eternal, the cleverness is unparalleled, and to see Hepburn and O'Toole together ... it's classic, in the truest sense of that word. I have loved it since I was a little girl just old enough to understand nuance.
AND
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon -
Again, the drams is so real and can't be matched. It is a highly artistic movie in it's form, wording, story, photography, but it isn't obvious. It has a deep element that many people just don't get.
If my house was to catch fire, aside from family members and my comp, I would grab these two movies.

I love Braveheart. it's an endearing story with love, war, and freedom all in one. I personally don't like war movies all that much which is why it's weird that this one would be my favorite but nonetheless it is. Mel Gibson does an excellent job of interpreting his role. I love the last scene that's always a tear jerker for me. I think the overall message is so great and powerful and oh i just love it. It's a good story that always keeps you on your feet. It's very hard to get me to sit through one of these very talkative films but since i did and understood it, it must mean that it's good :)

My favorite movie would have to be Night at the Museum!!
I think that this is one of Ben Stiller's best movies, and the cast was terrific! The ensemble fit together perfectly and this movie is hilarious. I think that Ben's performance was remarkable and unforgettable. A great kids movie!!

I really have a bunch of movies I like but the one I'd pick over all the other ones would be October Sky. I guess I picked it because its based on a true story, it talks about a gruop of boys who are seen like future failures and who will most likely end their days working at a local coal mine. One of the boys decides he will not end up like that and convinces his friends to help him build a rocket so they can enter into the science fair and have a chance in winning a scholarship. I won't tell you anymore other than its really good and you have to see it to agree with me.

Way to many to choose only one. However, I watch "A Walk In The Clouds" every time it is on. Also "Casablanca" , The African Queen", "Chicago". Cabaret", Once Upon A Time In The West", The Longest Day". I could probably name a couple of hundred easily, but you only asked for one. I am already over the limit.
