I was attacked by 2 family members but when I called the police they decided not to arrest them. I received minor injuries (bleeding lip and some bruises) but I really feel that there's something wrong with this picture. I didn't start the fight nor did I lay a hand on them (even after they attacked) and yet I was clearly the victim and they got away with it.

I don't want to sue for money because they are both under 18 (not much though) and it would hurt my parents. Is there anything I can do to make sure they serve their time? I didn't write a statement because my head was still hurting after the attack. Is that bad (I don't have much experience with these kind of things)? I truly tried to forgive them but they never really even apologized to me.

First, go file a police report yourself. Second, contact the prosecutor's office. Tell them what happened and tell them you wish to prosecute. Be prepared, they may turn you down and decide not to prosecute. It is not likely that you will win this one. The cops usually dislike interfering in a family. But, if you feel this is necessary, talk to the prosecutor. File your own report!!!

You can call and make a complaint, and have the supervisor respond, but bear in mind that if this was mutual combat and you inflicted injuries on them that you'll be arrested as well. How long ago was this?

If the police refuse to prosecute and that happens many times because they are afraid it will be hard to prove and victims change their mnd alot.

You can always contact the prosecutor's office directly and ask them if they wish to prosecute.
