I'm making a video about animal slaughter and animal cruelty to put it on youtube. Is there anyone who knows a very sad song? Like the saddest song possible.

Adagio for Strings - Samuel Barber
Adagio for Strings and Organ - Albinoni

However, those may be overdone. You may recognize them from other films.

These are some less sad, but very poignant pieces:

Partsongs, Op. 119: No. 3 - Blue Bird - Matthew Barley
In Trutina (Carmina Burana) - Hayley Westenra
Pavane for a Dead Princess - Ravel
Pavane Opus 50 Faure
Black Stallion - Carmine Coppola (George Winston's piano solo recording of this is particularly good)
Danse Sacree - Debussy
Concierto de Aranjuez: Adagio - Roderigo
Gymnopedie II - Satie

Try different pieces and see which one fits. Sometimes the really sad, sad songs aren't as effective as, say, a lullaby.

How about "Memories" from the broadway show "Cats"?
Its very sad to me because I remember the scene in which it was sung.
One of the older lead cats is dying and it knows it is dying and these are the words the cat sings. (If you want the lyrics) I love this song it will make you cry. The cat so wanted to see one more sunrise and new day dawning.

Daylight
See the dew on the sunflower
And a rose that is fading
Roses whither away
Like the sunflower
I yearn to turn my face to the dawn
I am waiting for the day . . .

Midnight
Not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory?
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight
The withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan

Memory
All alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days
I was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

Every streetlamp
Seems to beat a fatalistic warning
Someone mutters
And the streetlamp gutters
And soon it will be morning

Daylight
I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I musn't give in
When the dawn comes
Tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin

Burnt out ends of smoky days
The stale cold smell of morning
The streetlamp dies, another night is over
Another day is dawning

Touch me
It's so easy to leave me
All alone with the memory
Of my days in the sun
If you touch me
You'll understand what happiness is

Look
A new day has begun

That song by Coldplay is called "The Scientist"........and it could work....

"I was just guessing at numbers and figures, pulling the puzzle apart. Questions of science, science and progress do not speak as loud as my heart...Running in circles, chasing our tails, coming back as we are. Nobody said it was easy. It's such a shame for us to part. Nobody said it was easy. No one ever siad it would be this hard. Oh Take me back to the start".
