Well when someone tells me thank you I think that they dont mean it and it is just a cheap payback for me so they dont have to do somthing els that really means to me and would be appriciated.
^_^ BUT sometimes I do like a thank you.

To me it means that there are actually people left with manners out there - they're a dying breed!

Its just thank you. I wouldn't put that much thought into it. I agree sometimes it's said just to be said but the same could be said about. How are you? When that's asked I'm sure the asker don't want to hear your life's story. Its just a common courtesy.

It really depends on the person who says it to me. If the person is truly a good friend, then i would appreciate the "thank you" very deeply.

I like a thank you that's sincere otherwise it feels meaningless and as if it's forced and not from the heart.

very proud & pleased
especialy if the gratidude comes from my child or close friends
meaning that they don't take me for granted
