Whatever age you are when you realize you dont need the extra security.
People who put an age limit on that sort of thing are self concious or insecure.

Honestly, if you/someone needs a bear or something else to get to sleep at night, it is a mental assistance. For many it is that extra assurance or feeling of safety or company that helps them get to sleep at night.

Yes, most people outgrow the need for that extra assurance by a certain age, but that doesnt mean that everyone has to be over the darn thing by then.

its one of those things that varies from person to person.
if it is needed, it is kept until it is not needed.
now, it can be kept a secret after a certain point because a lot of people think there are certain ages where certain things just dont belong there. They think someone in college with a plushie is a wuss. But thinking of it in hindsite, they probably have one of their own and want to depleat suspicion by pointing out someone else.

Honestly there is no "too old" when it comes to something that can help you/someone psychologically.

For most kids, around 8 or 9. Some might go until by the they are 11 or 12. Of course who really cares if they continue to sleep with a teddy bear? Who is it hurting?

when you have someone to take his place...LOL
I think that there's too much emphasis placed on timelines and chronology, if you want a teddy bear...have one.
Comfort is very important. Of course give it up when you may have company in your room, and use as decor on a shelf if you think friends will mock. bring him down when no one is around to judge...or be brave, and let teddy have pride of place in your home...I know someone who has about 200 bears, her house is very welcoming and comfortable for everyone.

As long as no one who would make fun sees it, as long as one wants to. Otherwise, put Teddy away or give him to a small child who will love him just as much.

Umm, I'm 20 and I still sleep with one. So, yeah, I agree that you can probably get rid of it when you get married or whenever you feel ready to let go.
