He is the town doctor whose most important appearance is at the end of the book when Jem and Scout are attacked and he is called over immediately, taking care of Jem's wounds. He has various other appearances throughout the novel as well.

He is the local doctor of Maycomb who helps Jem after he is attacked by Bob Ewell
