I had a choice of a 97 altima for 1,500 and a buick lasabre from my mom for 500.OO I picked the buick it seemed like a good deal and now she wont give me the key and she also says she does not have the papers for it she says it because I dont have DRIVERS LICENSE which I take the test for WED I dont think that this is right she recently gave my sister an ALTIMA SAME YEAR SHE IS 19 HAS NO LICENSE AND THE CAR IS IN HER NAME SHE PAY INSURENCE I AM 23 I HAVE KIDS WHO HAVE TO GET TO THE DOCTOR STUFF LIKE THAT the deal sounded nice I never thought MY MOM WOULD DO SOMTHING LIKE THAT TO ME KNOWING HOW HARD IT WAS TO SAVE UP MONEY I MISSED OUT ON THE ALTIMA AND NOW MISSING OUT OWN WORK AND SCHOOL ITS SO MUCH I WANT TO DO AND THE CAR WOULD HAVE HELPED LET ME ADD SHE TOOK MY MONEY AND ADDED IT ON A DOWN PAYMENT FOR A 2002 SUBURBAN IT WOULD BE WRONG TOO TAKE HER TO COURT WHAT SHOULD I DO

If you and your mom signed any papers, I would take her to court. I know it seems wrong, but you have kids to worry about, and she took that money from them, too. However, I'm guessing that this whole thing was a verbal agreement, in which case, you are SOL. It is bad enough that she cheated you, but in essence, she has also cheated her grandchildren.

Sounds like a family dispute mechanic's can not do anything about. The difference in a ten or twelve year old car? The Nissan would have been a better choice than a 3800 engined buick front wheel drive. My suggestion is let it rust away in MOMS drive way and go out and check used car financing something a little newer and build credit. After paying regularly finance something brand new buy a house and have lot's of kids go into debt. Just like almost everyone.

I would call the cops and tell them I bought the car and she wont hand over the papers and keys.... you better do something!!
