I am doing doing a debate against evolution for my biology class. Does anyone have any good points against this evolution bogus?

Okay personally I believe in evolution but if your going to be the devil's advocate.

First and formost your main source is most likely going to be the bible. Prepare arugments based on what the other team will say. They might talk about the fact that we may have ansesters within chimpanzes. You can ask why do chimpanzes still exist is you argue that gradualism (slow evolution that happens over a long period of time) does exist.
The other team has a lot of material at hand. You definatly want to point out that God can not be disproven (though the probilitly is low that he does exist)

I believe that 'God' theory is a decent argument against evolution

Evolution is fact, so you're fighting an uphill battle. You're going to have to stipulate to microevolution and intermediate evolution, which have been directly observed. You're going to have to stipulate to speciation events, which have been observed.

Go after macroevolution -- this can't be observed without a time machine, LOL.

1. The Cambrian Explosion -- it looks as if lots of phyla and body plans appeared quite suddenly, more suddenly than we'd think possible through evolution.
2. We don't find very many fossils, so we can't know for sure what was going on.
3. Even where there are fossils (as of hominids and equines), we can't tell which are "direct ancestors" and which are "also-ran extinct cousins."
4. Abiogenesis experimentation borders on the speculative. We don't know that the early Earth had a reducing atmosphere. There are no fossils of protobionts, so there's no direct evidence of what the first "life" was like.
5. Some biochemical systems appear to be complex and irreducibly complex that it's difficult to imagine that they could have evolved. Michael Behe in "Darwin's Black Box" gives as examples blood clotting, among others.

Okay, you've made your points. Now you're going to have to try to refute your opponent's argument:
"There is no known process which, over a long period of time, would prevent the observed processes of microevolution and intermediate evolution from becoming macroevolution."

I don't have an answer for that one. Sorry.

Good luck.

Try comparing Evolution to Lamarckism, and appealing to the Bible for answers. Most people do not understand the concept of "genetic drift" or "natural selection" - making it easier for you to fly silly ideas past them.

You will definately want to get some good biblical quotes in the debate - and a timeline.

Winning a debate on Evolution is basically the same as any other debate ... there are lots of good ways to hide facts or distort things to go your way. Swing those emotions into play.

None...evolution is indisputable. Only uneducated people, and very religious people that do not dare to challenge the idea of other mighty powers than God try to find evidence for the non-existence of evolution. Isn't it sad?
Proof of no God: Cambodia, the holocaust, Vietnam, Irak right now, hunger around the world, Katrina, pedophiles, poverty beyond belief, like Somalia, wars, dictators (in all their flavors), mass graves, kids abandoned on the side of the road, animals abandoned on the side of the road...do I need more proof?

You should read 'The Case for a Creator.' It contains several interviews with top scientists and makes some valid points. Also you could try the 'Darwin's black box' argument.

No. There is far too much evidence in support of the theory. The theory would not exist if there were scientific proof against it.

What type of biology class is this? There is no " controversy to teach " and to even hold such a debate is bogus. Your teacher needs disciplining; as well as your intellect.

-the origin of the universe and the origin of life cannot be tested or observed. both creation and evolution are faith based systems when they speak of origins.-
start by actually defining the word evolution,
i believe that darwins theory is just that a theory
if you look hard enough you will find the answer
and as always pray about
you will be amazed at the way God will help you out
don't lose faith
