Man, re-reading 'Slaughterhouse Five' (since high school) and that guy is beautiful.

I certainly do agree. He was those two things. It takes a lot of bitterweet to cut the sacharrine from a sentence. Kurt was a master at that. The beautiful thing he did that impressed the hell out of me was ---he never hammered a point.

Hmm, not too sweet, nor beautiful to me but a heck of a writer that had a great gasp of the human condition. That unsticking Billie Pilgrim, what a great gimmick! I'll miss him. BTW, Slaughterhouse 5 is available on DVD, great film too.

i like kurt vonneguts books but he is neither sweet or beautiful if u think he is than read welcome to the monkey house

He wrote beautifully, yes....

But unfortunately he looked like this:
