This is a bad, bad idea. I don't know where you people live, or if you've ever seen a poor person before. I'd be willing to talk about a 17% national flat tax with taxing food.

Jon, I agree with you that the fair tax proposal, even with the prebates, is a terrible idea, even though personally I would benefit. The poorest of the poor might break even, the middle class and lower middle class would get hit hard.

I can't see any chance it would ever be enacted, so am not real worried about it.

Maybe you should vote for Ron Paul as he said he would work to abolish the IRS.
