I pulled my credit report through a company called Identity Guard and in it it contains background information and according to that I was arrested and charged for drug posession a felony in the state of Arkansas I have never even been to Arkansas and that definately was not me I live in Ohio. I dont know what to do to find out if this is a mistake on the part of Identity Guard or if someone has stolen my Identity. I called Identity Guard but am just getting the run around from them and my local police department will not help me until I can prove this is really listed under my social. I am going for a great job interview on Saturday and am afraid I wont even be called back If this does show up on my background check. Arkansas is not a public information state and they want you to pay for everything. I dont know where to begin Please Help

you'll also need to get into contact with the Police department in Arkansas to help clear up the situation. By having a "police" record, it could prevent you from traveling and even so much as putting you on the NoFly list at airports.

See if you can find out which county in Arkansas the arrest occured. Then you can start by informing them. If a felony was committed, then mug shots were taken of the person who may have stolen your identity.

There are several good sites with this type of information. I suggest you look at *many* of them and figure out a good plan of action.

Call all your credit card companies, alert the bank you use, and look up the Social Security agency as I'm sure they have protocol for something like this.

You need to go to your local Social Security office.
Then you need to contact the police departments that are claiming to have you on file.
Ask them, and or tell them, that you'll do a finger print proof that it's not you that they have on file.
It's alot of investigating work, you'll have to do on your own.
My sister had this problem about five years ago.
She was arrested on a warrant from california, she's in Texas, on her record she had drug possessiona and ettempt to sell, and the person that was using her Id was a man from Mexico, she's a white female, and till this day, she's fighting with the Social Security office to fix it.
