I am about to graduate from college, and I am actively interviewing outside sales positions. I have been made two awesome offers already, but I have not found the right one yet, so I haven't actually accepted an offer. BUT, when I was interviewing earlier I had hair extensions that flowed midway down my back to about my bra strap (i'm black by the way!!). And don't worry, they were neat and looked very natural. I am now wearing my real hair, which is cut in a blunt bob to my shoulders, but I really want to cut my hair really short (inspired by halle berry) this week before graduation. Some say that short hair does not have as much appeal and is not as attractive as long straight hair, especially for a black female. I know its shallow, but I am looking for a job and interviewing and I do not want anything to hinder my chances... I'll probably cut it anyway, but I just want to hear people's opinions cause my friends and family have some strong opinions about me cutting my hair..

Unless you get a mohawk or shave your head, hairstyle should not affect your job prospects or performance nowadays. Be yourself and don't look too bizarre and you'll be judged by what you do, not by your locks.

Your looks are very important to the hiring process. I have hired a lot of people in my lifetime. Make sure your hair is conservative and clean. Once you are hired is when you can do anything you want to your hair. As far as extensions are concerned, they can be very neat and natural, but my Human
Resources Department have received many complaints about them. There have been women who never take the extensions out, therefore never washing their own hair or scalp. The complaints have been about smell. I have never smelled anything personally, so I have never taken any action on the complaints. If the employees making the complaints are having a problem with smell they should say something about it to that person. I will not fire someone because of that.

i imagine that having short hair can nevertheless look very specialist, particularly in case you're being inspired by Halle Berry's Oscar haircut. see you later as you're making effective you're taking care of it and do it ordinary, i don't believe of it concerns on length. do merely not pass loopy and do the completed mohawk or spike project. see you later as you'll characterize your self professionally (particularly going into sales), you are able to decrease it as short as you pick. short hair seems quite snazzy with a effective business organization in structure, by the way.
