this is a random question, but im just throwing it out there.
who is your best do-it-all back? best receiving back? best power back, and best running back in terms of value to his team.
1.LaDainian Tomlinson fits the first 2 and the last one. but he'll run over ppl when he has to. He blocks too. Best RB in the NFL right now
2.I would say Tomlinson again, but Steven Jackson had 90 catches last year.
3.Frank Gore. He's small, but this guy is a truck. he'll mow almost any safety over 1v1
4.I def have to say tomlinson again. he sets up so many things for the chargers and IS the best back in the NFL

You just answered your own question, but here are my rankings:
1. Best do-it-all back: LT
2. Best receiving back: LT or Reggie Bush. Brian Westbrook and Steven Jackson are pretty good too.
3. Best power back: Larry Johnson
4. Most value to his team: Larry Johnson. The Chiefs would have absolutely no offense without LJ, but if you take away Tomlinson, the Chargers would still have Michael Turner.

I would say Larry Johnson is the best all purpose back in the NFL. He can run, catch, block, and blow right through any one on the field. LT is very good but he had a better lead blocker, offensive line, and a better team to support him. If LJ can run for over 1700 yards with only starting the last eight games, two years ago, he must be good.

LT is the best at what he does if he stays healthy but if they keep using him as much as they have he is going to be wore out in three more years. I am going to have to disagree with you on power back because Larry Johnson is pretty tough to beat. Now i know everybody is tired of hearing about Bush and i certainly was not a fan when the saints drafted him but as far as receiving goes he is going to good with the way the saints are setting up there offense he is probably going to get a bunch of catches this season. He still has a lot to prove though, but if i had to start a team tomorrow LT would be my back. Someone to think about is Addai in Indy he is the featured back now so its going to be interesting to see how well he does on his own.

I agree that LJ is one of the most complete backs along with Stephen Jackson... Out Of Back Field Recievers/Screen Catchers and Great Blockers
Dont get me wrong LT Jr. (Lawrence Taylor is the tru LT Sorry guys) is bomb he and Westbrook are used in similar ways... Better WR/RB
Reggie Bush... I dont know if he can take the punishment of a 3 down back but we will see eventually MAYBE???
PS- Chargers wouldnt be anything without LT..... Turner is not that great of player... The Defense is just tired from running after LT and thats how Turner gets his yards/TDS
:-) har har

It's no doubt LT...
His rushing yards & receiving yards are off the charts...
But you also forgot about his passing skills, he's gotta break a record for most passing TDs by a RB
Speed, Agility, Awareness, Size, Strength, Hands
LT is the total package and is the standard of RBs at the moment
