Curt has proven himself a HUGE fan of baseball time and time again. Think what you want about him as a person, his politics, even his play on the field. But you have to admit one thing, he loves the sport. He knows A LOT about baseball and it's history. And seeing how he has proven himself an opinionated person (putting it mildly...he has a HUGE mouth, and I am a fan of the Sox and his, but even I think he talks to much) it is not surprising he chimed in on this one.
But I agree with Curt on this, and respect his right to say what he wants, as a fan of the game and as a player who must despise what people like Bonds are doing to the sport's reputation. Bonds has proven to be a jerk time and time again, through his drug use (does anyone REALLY think he never touched steroids?), his actions off the field, the things he has said to the media...just his all around persona. The guy is a grade A jerk. And he is making one of baseballs most respected records an absolute joke.
Everyone should speak out against guys like Bonds, McGuire, Sosa and Palmero. Maybe if these guys felt some pressure from some of their own teammates they wouldn't be in such a selfish hurry to roid up and chase the record books.

I think it's to be expected. Schilling and Bonds have never liked eachother. They've publicly called eachother names and talked about how they didn't like eachother in the past. Curt Schilling's one of those athletes who values his opinion way too much. Sox fans and anti-Bonds people will love Schilling for saying these, but I could care less what he thinks. Especially if he's going to go completely overboard with his opinions and accusations.

Schilling is a very decent person. He is courageous, as shown by his performance in the 2004 ALCS and World Series. He is charitable, he does fund-raising for ALS, the fund for Lou Gerhig's disease. He is an openly religious person. He worked for Bush in 2004. He says what he thinks. If he trashed Barry, it's because he feels that Barry has taken unfair advantage by using steroids. Barry has pretty much admitted steroid use. What's his beef. Barry will be loudly booed in Fenway during interleague play, as he probably is everywhere. By contrast, Dave Roberts will be greeted warmly.

Seriously though, when you're on 'roids, HOW can you feel good about what you accomplish? Even it hasn't been proven, there is NO WAY you can be 30 years old, and skinny as a rake, and then when your 40 BOOM up to the black arnold schwarzanegger...Here is the pic of bonds when he was 30 for the pittsburgh pirates, and when he was roided up with the giants. This is a before and after pic of him on roids http://www.lehigh.edu/~bm05/pool/steroids.jpg

those are some strong words on the part of Schilling..... wow..... he didn't say he thought barry took steroids, he flat out said he admitted to taking them, and the wife and the taxes..... wow i dont know what to think. Curt wouldn't say something like that unless it was true. what he said wasn't made on assumptions.... Way to go Curt!!!!!

well Shilling is a self serving grandstander. I think his opinion is correct though. Bonds is a selfish, brooding jerk. I think he along with Mc Gwire and Sosa should have little asterisks next to their name in the Baseball Encyclopedia. *suspected drug user

Its funny to read comments like this from Curt Schilling, who arguably is/was a steroid user himself.

Bonds has taken Schilling deep a few times in his career. Schilling is trying to make us forget about his fake bloody sock from their world series run a few years ago.
