Alright, let's see. I know what the first guy meant, it is pretty ambiguos. And the religious one makes sense from a religous standpoint, I suppose.

So we have a "nobody can answer that yet" and a "do God's will." I hope people will be more original, these are some of the very common ones and I only need them once.

I knew someone would say 42. Yep, I know. But remember that Deep Thought itself said that it couldn't give a good answer sine it didn't know what the question was. And it wasn't the meaning of life, it was the answer to life, the universe, and everything. It's the little differences that are important, right? No? Fine, have it your way.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

The Meaning of Life? Well i don't know if this is the meaning or the reason. But here it is. We are the ones who are supposed to be "Caretaking" this planet. We are at the top of the chain because we have the responsibility of keeping things balanced and even. We failing miserably. We have the ability to make choices not always based on our animal impulses, but sometimes based on logic. Fish cant reason themselves out of swimming upstream, birds migrate because they are programmed to do so. Each has a pourpose in the big picture. We have become arrogant parisites sapping the planet of its bounty. This aint religion, Gods got nothing to do with, or much else. Its nature, balance and we have disrupted it. If you look at the planet as an organism then we ar a bacterial infection that is sucking it dry. If aliens were to roll up on us they would probably view us as a virus or infection that has infested the planet. KILLING IT!!

Yes I think that life for repeat offenders is good.I mean cause most of these murders could have been prevented if the killers would have stayed in jail. I can relate to the victims families. My friend was killed in 1997 and they have no leads. An I know sometimes the jury lets them off but come on if the guy or girl killed more than once you know hes going to do it again.

Isn't it obvious? Food!!! All life comes from food! Food eats energy, different food eats Food, then WE eat different food! Yaaaaaaay food!!!

Nah, i'm just kiddin'. The real answer depends on whether or not you are a religous person. If you are, then the meaning of life is to be happy and serve your faith. If you are an aethiest, then just enjoy yourself and life in general. In the end, it all boils down to your beliefs.

Enjoy and Love life, regardless of what you believe. Please everyone be tolerant of each other. Nobody likes an intolerant jerk!

Good luck with finding your best answer!!!!!!

Life is a Dream , Realize it
Life is a Challenge , Meet it
Life is a Duty , Complete it
Life is a Game , Play it
Life is a Promise , Fulfill it
Life is Sorrow , Overcome it
Life is a Song , Sing it
Life is a struggle , accept it
Life is a Tragedy , Confront it

I believe the meaning of life is not to find "happiness" Not to be wealthy. Or anything like that. I believe it is to find a balance in life. To weigh the good against the bad. If times are rough I don't look to god for faith. I look to life. What can I do to improve life. If I give what I have to offer it helps balance out what has been taken away from me. I am no professional of this topic. This is just what I feel fits my life. So like I said if I give, and you give, and then we all give. Life balances itself out. Life becomes balanced. My meaning in life is to find the fulcrum point of Giving and receiving.

the purpose of life is to die, for one cannot have life without enjoying the privledge of death.

the meaning of life IS indeed 42. here is my reasoning, nobody knows what the meaning of life is, much like nobody can prove the existence of god, etc... 42 is a metaphor for people's inability to cope with the fact that there is no meaning, there is only life and then death

42! [As seen in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and an inside joke]

I think the meaning of life is to find where you feel most comfortable, doing what you love to do without the pressure of needing it done right.

Your question makes an assumption that has not been introduced as fact. On what basis do any of us conclude that life must have meaning? At the age of 3, did you concern yourself with the meaning of life? At the age of 5? At the age of 7? In our younger years, we merely live life. It is only as we age that we attempt to find some meaning to explain those things that we do not understand. We seek meaning to explain those things in life that leave an emotional impact that is umpleasant or that equate to suffering.

The meaning of life is that there is no meaning. It is a delusion that we maintain that their is any.

The meaning of life is the dedication to God. Dedication to God causes happiness to spread to everyone. God provides us with every need we possibly need and we have a responsibility to Him to do the duties that He assigns to each individual. We are placed on the earth for a purpose and that purpose is to serve Him.
