I'm no scientist or anything, just a guy who likes looking at the moon, the stars, and whatever else crosses the eyepiece of my telescope. I was just wondering if there were any online communites or clubs I could join just to chat with other Amateur Astronomers, casual star gazers or if it's possible real Astronomers! Just curious, thank you!

Call a local planetarium in Hawaii. If you are stationed in Oahu, check with a Morale Officer on Base or aboard your ship. They may know. If you ever get to the Big Island, go to Mauna Lea or Mauna Kea. They've got one of the most impressive and powerful telescopes in the world, and it's over 14,000 ft up.

Look at your local University's web page if it has an observatory. There will likely be a link somewhere to a local amateur astronomers group.
