Which treo was better Montana,Rice,Craig or Aikmen,Smith or Irvin?

To me, the offensive line that Aikman, Smith and Irvin had was mostly superior to that of the Montana, Rice, Craig teams. Yes, Aikman was the superior scrambler so kept alive plays and one could argue Montana's line gave him all day to sit back in the pocket and pass.

But the offensive line of the Cowboys during the Smith years was a serious force that could have gotten yards for any number of no-name running backs. The Montana era Niner's OL was great at pass blocking but didn't have the overall run blocking skills of the Aikman Cowboys.

Rice was small; Irvin was big. Rice was relatively slow compared to Irvin.

I have to say, because of the achievements of the Montana, Rice, Craig combo in view of the fact they were all probably less athletic and less initially gifted than their opposites on the Cowboys, they achieved more with less and, therefore, were better.
