I asked earlier about how expensive gas was in your area. I my opinion I think Bush doesn't care how high gas goes. It only pads his pocket so he can have "WHITE" tie dinners and continue to use the war as a way to keep the economy from dropping like a rock.

Bush cannot control gas prices.

Even if he cares, gas prices are not his business.

Any attempt by government to set price controls on gasoline can, and will, only lead to economic disaster.

If YOU want to see gasoline prices drop, then start lobbying to allow more oil refineries to be built in America, and ask your congresweasels to approve oil drilling in ANWR and the Gulf of Mexico.

If you oppose either one of those measures, then STFU about gas prices.

EDIT: I cannot believe how many retarded Bush-bashers think that the President of the United States has the authority or the power to change the prices of any commodity in the US market.

Here's a tip: LEARN a little bit about government and economics before parading your ignorance to the world by demanding harmful things that government is not authorized to give you, anyway.

Gas in Louisville is about $3.07 a gallon; it's always higher here around Derby time.

Bush has no control over the price of gas. Think about it....do you really want ANY president to have that control? Besides, I seem to remember how, before the November election, so many people were blaming the Republicans for the high price of gas (like they want THAT), and those same people were so excited when the Democrats gained control of the House & Senate so there would be relief on the gas prices. Didn't happen.

Hmmm. So now it's still Bush's fault? Somebody needs to decide which side of the argument they're on. By that same logic, when gas prices go down, Bush should get the credit.

I don't think Bush has control over rising gas prices. I think they are (somehow) a result of the war and the fact that Petrolium is not a renewable resource. As a matter of fact it takes millions of years to form. I think that our dependance of foreign oil doesn't help either. If anything we should find ways to develop a more cost efficient and environmentally friendly source of feul. As to whether he cares or not..who knows. I think if he cared enough he would have made more of an effort to fund ways of finding a more cost effiecient source of energy. I think more can be done. Another reason I don't think rising costs of feul phases him much i because Bush is not the average american. He doesn't have to worry about a tight budget, low income etc. It doesn't affect hi directly.

He's friends with all the oil people. He doen't care how high gas is, just that he's making money. Gas isn't going up because of the war. It's all lies.

unleaded gasoline is sold on the worldwide commodities and futures market and the government has no control over pricing without instituting some radical restraint on fair market pricing - its in the administrations best interest to keep prices low as inflation stays in check that way. refinery capacity is and has been the biggest factor in increasing gas prices over the last couple of years. the refineries can't keep up with US demand so prices go up.

SPREADING THE WORD!!!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NO GAS...On May 15th 2007
Don't pump gas on MAY 15th
In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas
prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.
On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest
of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.
There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and
the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.
If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take
$2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for
just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to
put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.
If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) resend this to all your
contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"
That's funny, I seem to remember a news story a few weeks ago about Bush trying to lower gas prices. Oh look at that, I even have a link for you from your favorite news source of all places:
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/04/25/bush.energy/
I guess he DOES intend on doing something about it, whether you want to recognize it or not.
He has no control over it. A lot of gas stations are privately owned.
Gas is around $2.93 here.
He doesn't care about it now. Nor I don't htink he has control over it. It's us who are driving up the demand on short supplies.
