I've made a 12 channel IR remote circuit, and i was unable to generate code for that, i desperately need the source code for the micro-controller used in it. You can view the circuit at :- http://www.crowcroft.net/kitsrus/k142_article.pdf

I think they were supposed to supply you with a pre programmed micro with the kit. If they didnt, then contact them and get one. It is possible to write code for it, but it would take a little time, and you would have to know the codes for the IR channels.

P.S. I really dont think they will give you the source code for it, just the compiled HEX file for it, maybe. Then you need a way to program it into the micro.

The atmel 89C2051 is a general purpose microcontroller based on intel's 8051. The source code needs to match the circuit you are building, thus the easiest way is for you to contact the author
at http://www.oatleyelectronics.com/ and ask them to send you a programmed chip for this circuit.
The other alternative is to write the code yourself and somehow program the chip- but that's not really something for a beginner.
