I know about TKTS and Theatermania and Playbill Club's discounts. I was hoping some other theater buffs out there might have some more suggestions for me. Thanks!

Lottery seats! A lot of the big shows have them, and they're generally $20-25/seat. However, they're very, *very* limited (12 for each performance for Avenue Q, last I heard; 20 at each show for RENT, etc.). How to get them varies a little bit from show to show, but generally, you have to go to the theatre 2-3 hours before curtain and put your name in for the drawing, then an hour or so before the show, names are drawn until the avalible seats are all sold. Check out the websites for individual shows for specific details.

I like to try for the $25 front row tix! Some productions do a lottery for cheap tix, usually the front row seats. You go a few hours before the show and put your name in for the lottery and if you're chosen, you get to buy 2 seats (usually cash only) on the spot and you have to use one of the tickets yourself (no scalping). Good luck!

If you go into the information center on Broadway, towards the back, they sell discounted tix. Hope this helps.
