That would be Assiniboi park (Winnipeg zoo). Located in Winnipeg. That zoo is much better than the one I ever been to.

I am partial to the Philadelphia Zoo, especially their captive bird breeding program. The last time I was there, they provided great educational materials about the animals, and they do a lot with enrichement in a small space. I did not like the San Diego Zoo, which to me seemed way over-commercialized. I would have liked to have learned soemthing other than the animals' names! Although not a zoo, the Baltimore Aquarium is spectacular, and has some great zoo-like exhibits. Finally, the zoological park/ exhibit in Victoria, British Columbia, was very beautiful.

The only true zoo that I've been to is the St. Louis Zoo. It's one of the best in the U.S., so I've heard, and they are constantly making improvements. It's one of the few zoos that does not charge admission. It's very nice and there are buildings and exhibits that date back to the 1904 World's Fair. One is a flight cage that's full of birds (ducks, flamingos, peafowl, and many other species). You walk through a huge cage on a raised deck/path and there is nothing that separates you from the birds. There is a stream with pools running through it and plants and trees everywhere. It's awesome.

San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park, Milwaukee Zoo was alright, but the worst (even though it wasn't your question) was the Paris Zoo.

I haven't been to that many zoos, definitely less than 10, but my favorite is the National Zoo in DC. The habitats seem very natural, which is good for the animals. The paths are nice and wide, hilly and tree-lined, so you forget that you are in the middle of a stinkin city.

The zoo in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It's better than the one in SanDiego (which is supposed to be one of the best in the world). It's much better than the Seattle zoo, the small one that used to be in Spokane,WA, and the Portland zoo.

Not the San Diego Zoo, it's over-rated.
