Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail. She feels it's cruel and unusual punishment. She want to be pardoned by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The petition states: Paris Whitney Hilton is an American celebrity and socialite. She provides hope for young people all over the U.S. and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives. We, the American public who support Paris, are shocked, dismayed and appalled by how Paris has been the person to be used as an example that Drunk Driving is wrong. We do not support drunk driving or DUI charges. Paris should have been sober. But she shouldn't go to jail, either. Yet, Paris Hilton did not hurt, injure, or kill anyone or anything, and yet she must do jail time. This petition is to ask Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon Paris Hilton for her mistake. Please allow her to her return to her career and life. Everyone makes mistakes. She is distraught and understandably afraid.

It also states: If the late Former President Gerald Ford could find it in his heart to pardon the late Former President Richard Nixon after his mistake(s), we undeniably support Paris Hilton being pardoned for her honest mistake as well, and we hope and expect The Governor will understand and grant this unusual but important request in good faith to Ms. Paris Whitney Hilton.

Can you believe this??? Your thoughts??

She's a spoiled little brat, she's unbelievable. She should have the same punishment (same amount of time too!!!) as the rest of us.

I think that Paris needs to get off of her high horse, if it were anyone else, the sentence would have been the same. No, Paris did not hurt anyone, but if she were to drive a car drunk again, who says she couldn't?

She needs to own up to her responsibilities and admit that she's done wrong and pay the price. If she's such a role model, the best way to make an example to young girls is to accept responsibility rather than skirt around the consequence.

She should just serve her time (or how ever long they end up keeping her), chalk it up to experience, learn from her mistake, and not do it again.

Dear God! Seriously? Bleeech! The brat is a blight on the countryside. Now she's a CONVICTED drunk driver. Pardon her??! How about SHOOT her? Her annoyance factor alone makes her a good choice for jail. BOO-HOO! Good Lord. If ANY part of that "petition" had a basis in reality...Bah. All that money, and she couldn't call a cab? Where was this "friend", the petition writer, when a designated driver was needed? Gaaaagh!Cruel and unusual?? That's what the REST of us endure because she's such a "media darling". Is this another publicity stunt?? (Of COURSE it is....) "Provides hope"??? Of WHAT!? Please, make her go awaaaay....Oh...anyone else wonder how much this "friend" cost?.

egads!! no one is above the law! I hope she does go to jail and learn her lesson, just because you are rich and a socialite does not mean you can get out of anything! True she did not hurt anyone but what if she did? You know if she has driven drunk once she may do so again, the next time she could hurt or kill someone. Take some responsibility paris!!

oh for god sakes if arnold does anything....im sure a lot of ppl will look down on him as a crappy governor. cuz that means (like someone mentioned here) that you can get away with the law with money. paris should just fkn go to jail cuz all this avoidance is makin her look incredibly stupid. it just shows u how ignorant she is about her dui's and violating probation and what not. PARIS, just serve ur damn time in jail and stop fkn makin a big fuss over it! YOU FKED UP DO WHAT U GOTTA DO NOW!

Is Arnold going to spank her or what?. Everyone deserves the same treatment. If they let her off thet would set a precedence and those charged with DUI could argue that Paris was pardoned, why shouldn't I be. Paris was put on this earth to show us all what not to do.

Absolutely not. I'm tired of the rich and famous getting away with stuff that normal people usually get punished for. She does not provide beauty and excitement to our mundane lives, instead she exposes our young adults to drugs and public displays of unacceptable behavoir.

Let the dumb, irresponsible skank do her time. If Arnold does pardon her, I hope he gets ousted out of office. But I think he's wiser than that

Screw her. She is not exempt from the law due to her celebrity status. Drive on a suspended license and suffer the consequences of the law like everyone else. Besides that, she has an astronomical amount of money to pay for a chauffeur to go wherever she needs to go.

I'm amused she finds her presence in our society to be of any high importance. LOLZ

Jail time for Paris is what I say. To quote a line from South Park, Paris Hilton is a "stupid spoiled whore."

I'm just salivating over Paris getting walloped by large, many women in prison cornering her and giving her a hefty dose of reality. Maybe she'll find Jesus down the trousers of a lifer.
