Can someone please tell me what is good about hip hop music?

Relax. I don't care if people like it. Had to write a paper talking about the pro's and con's and wanted to make sure I covered all of the pros. some of you are too sensitive.

The beat and the lyrics if you really listen to it. Not all hip hop is bad! There is even Christian rap so don't knock it until you really listen to it.

The truth is that hip-hop music isn't for everyone. There isn't one genre of music that appeals to every single person. In my opinion, I really like hip-hop music. I like the beats the artists use, and the energy it gives off. You can generally dance to most hip-hop songs. I know a lot of people think that most hip-hop artists are talentless, and what they do is easy, but it's not always that case. Sure not all of the lyrics are appropriate, but who really cares if they talk about girls and their behinds? You don't have to listen to it, and are you really taking music that serious to generalize a whole genre of music by a couple of songs? Also, not all hip-hop music is about booties and hoes, but some artists talk about their struggles and their lives. I find that rather interesting, that people with different pasts express themselves through music. While, yes today's hip-hop is way different from way back when, it still deserves its place in the music industry. It's not really meant for everyone, so nobody is forcing you to like it. I respect other people's opinons, but it's not really necessary to bash other people's taste in music.

hip hop is a type of music that has evolved and as a result become better as well as more appealing to younger generations the beat and lyrics often refer to the issues of today's youth furthermore the sexually charged lyrics are enjoyable especially to teenagers who are horny all the time (studies show that teenagers are thinking about sexual activity 98% of the time and the other 2% percent are spent engaging in sexual activity) perhaps the number one reason for the importance of hip hop is that it is very marketable its appeal is to minority groups which there is a majority of in the united states the reason hip hop is good is that record labels make a boatload of money from it because it is popular.

Hip Hop has a rich history. Look it up.. If you don't like it, that's your choice.. To appreciate any style, you have to appreciate music in itself. Be open to listening to new styles

well it matters what type of hiphop you listen too. as far as the mainstream stuff goes thier is much except a catchy beat and words that flow without much depth. I listen to underground indie hiphop. for me thier is alot of good in that stuff. good beats, great lyrics. for me it speaks of things i can relate to. i cant relate to mainstream stuff because it talks about nice things and i dont have nice things. one artist i can think of that has the most meaningfull lyrics and dope beats is Atmosphere. i recommend checking them out. God Loves Ugly is thier best album so check that one out first.
