Yeah it does - because no one ever came to MY rescue when I was screaming for help in my apartment while my mom beat the ever-loving sh!t outta me.

People, for the most part, are pathetic little cowards who "Don't wanna get involved." Fukking sickening. When I see kid getting hit, and I mean really hit, not a little tap on the wrist or bottom, I call the cops and talk as loud as I can on my cell so the caregiver hears me. It's hilarious to watch them lose all that bravado in a heart beat. Pretty fukkin' easy to push around someone incapable of defending themselves. Takes a biiiiig tough person to do that.

I find it quite shocking when, for instance, I see children being smacked or shouted at in a supermarket. I am fortunate that I never encountered such behaviour from my parents when I was growing up - I never heard them shout and certainly never heard them use bad language EVER, whereas the sort of language I hear used in front of children today is, I consider, totally inappropriate. It seems to me that these children are going to learn from the adults' example that that sort of behaviour (anger, violence, bad language) is acceptable because they are offered no alternative.
I wouldn't want to smack the adults ... because that is exactly what THEY are doing - translating their anger or frustration into violence. I would often like to say something or to show some reaction but, sadly, these days it is not unusual to get a mouthful of abuse (at the very least) for any such interference. The behaviour of these adults is not going to change because of one word from me. They need proper "de-programming" and re-educating so that they do not pass this culture on to the next generations.

No kids need a little fear instilled in them...otherwise they will do what-ever they want. You can't give a kid a time out in a store. U don't need to hit a child unless they continue to do what u tell them not to. I'm sure most parents don't like hitting their kids. I know I didn't.....but sometimes they needed it. When they have a little fear..then they tend to make better decisions and think before they act. There are always consequences for improper behaviour. Are u going to say to the rapist...there there u were having a bad day.....it's ok don't do it again.

depends on what the kid did, I got hit when I was a kid and I am well adjusted, I have a great job, a wonderful marriage and I love and respect both of my parents. The fact of the matter kids today have very little respect for others because they have very little respect for themselves because parents don't/can't disipline kids the way they need to be disiplined. I was an undefeated boxer from the time I was 14 till the time I was 22, if my dad didn't disipline me I would have slapped around everyone I came across.

Not if the child deserves it, I'd want to smack the child really hard if he/she was acting an *** around the adult.

Kids in the Post WWII era got punches in the face all the time, but you see how they turned out as a whole?

If the ADULT is ABUSING the child, then yes maybe,
If the child is being unruly, or DISRESPECTFUL, then the child may deserve a spanking. Each situation is different. It depends on the age of the child and the situation.

As much as I hate violence there are times I would like to really smack any adult who hits a child, if an adult hits an adult its GBH if an adult hits a child that seems to be ok, I hate people who hit their kids, no need for it ever.

I find it annoying when parents are out of control and ignorant in regards to properly disciplining their children. It doesn't make me want to hit them, but if I saw someone really out of control I'd say something about it.
