I think that the legal age limit should be 21. It should basicaly be treated as alcohol but with a little bit more rules. Because even then it will be legal.

And people always say its a bad drug that messes up your brain in the long run but what do you think everything else does. Alcohol, and everything else that is a legal drug does the same thing. And to my knowledge there has never been a know death caused to Cannabis. Come on people.

I would like to point out that the cancer causing agents in cigs are mostly added by man after the plant is grown and cut.
As far as being able to grow weed we'll you cant legaly cant grow tobacco but it wouldnt be hard so whats the diff? Alchohal can kill you just from drinking to much its called alchohal poisoning i know this for a fact because they found my uncle laying on the street with it when he was twenty one. He lived but barely and it was because he got drunk lost all inhabitions and just went to far easy to do when your drunk but thats legal. ive still to see someone die from smoking to much weed some one told me the other day that there friend died from cancer due to chemicals sprayed on the weed while it was growing so he dont think it should be legal. I ask for some proof which he couldnt provide surprise surprise
and either way if weed was legal it would be grown buy farmers right here in america giving them more work and money and the chemicals that caused his friends cancer wouldnt be sprayedon it. The gov could tax it more money for them they wouldnt be wasting money on arresting and sending people to prison for and they wouldnt have to pay to keep all those people in prison there would be more money and resources to fight the harder drugs such as meth, coke and heroin which are provin to kill people everyday there wouldnt be drug dealers out there selling weed to children at the playgrounds because it would be regulated just like cigs and alchohal. Now i know that children can get ahold of both cigs and alchohal ive been a kid myself once and done that but as it is right now there is no one checking IDs for the sell of marijuana anyone at any age can get there hands on it. Make it legal and youll make it harder for kids to get it. Right now most of the people who are selling pot care about one thing making as much money as possible
and not one penny they earn is taxed!!
By the way i dont wanna smoke all day i dont wanna drink at all i just want to sit down after a hard days work smoke a doobie and relax before i go to bed

Well it's been decriminalised in a lot of places... so who knows?
Here in Australia, there was a political party called HEMP (Help End Marijuana Prohibition). And a guy who stood for office legally changed his name to "Nigel Freemarijuana". Yeah... he lost... and he flipped out on polling day... but the site for the party is listed below...
You find the right electorate and you may well get elected on that issue... or if you have a munchies stand at the polling booth you may do better...
Also in Nimbin, New South Wales, they just had a mull festival. See the site below. It's been getting more popular over the last few years, and gets national media interest. The police even take a step back approach for the weekend...

Last year, in my Economics class, my professor gave a very compelling reason that marijuana should be legalized.
Essentially, the government can keep use of marijuana around the same level that it is now, but actually create more revenue.
Currently, the government spends money policing the sale, possession and use of marijuana.
Since marijuana is illegal, supply and demand is relatively low, given the risk. However, by legalizing marijuana and taxing it heavily, the government can keep supply and demand low, while creating a revenue from the taxes levied.
The only issue is, how do we prevent people from by-passing all of that and growing their own.
In response to health concerns with marijuana. Although it does have its negative effects, it is no where the worst substance out there, even when compared to legal substances. It is one of the least addicting substances out there, even less addicting than caffeine.

Not only should Cannabis be legalized so should a lot of other recreational drugs AND the government ought to provide sterile syringes and needles to those who choose to use! As for Cannabis, it is one drug that can actually make a cancer patient more comfortable that other drugs that must be obtained from a physician. When will the doctors start getting cancer????

We actually did it in Denver. We got the vote and "legalized" possession of 1oz or less for any person over the age of 21. The police and retards at city hall immediately had a coronary and said that state law supersedes local law, but Denver is a home rule city so they had to say that Federal law supersedes City law and now it's headed for the Supreme court. Pretty funny huh. LOL

The socio-economical benefits far surpass the cons. Not only can the Gov't tax the hell out of it, but we'd save more money by keeping the prisons from overcrowding with these guys that committed peaty crimes, like getting caught with an ounce. Also, it would have a significant impact on the war on drugs. We'll have more resources to keep the harder, deadlier drugs out.

It shouldn't be legal if you ask me. I used to smoke it all the time from about the age of 17 to 21, its only when i gave it up i realised how much it was messing me up. Its know to cause mental health problems in as many as 50% of its users. I became withdrawn and depressed.

I don't think it should be legal, but I think it should be decriminalized ie. not a federal offence. I don't think anyone should be in prison for smoking it, but I don't necessarily think it should be encouraged either. I think a fine of $100 for each offence is good enough.
I used to hang out with a bunch of stoners. They were not a very productive bunch, but they were harmless. The alcoholics however, are a disgrace.

I see absolutely NO BENEFIT to pot being against the law except for those in the black market. The mob never thrived as much as they did during prohabition. I don't think people SHOULD do drugs, but if they do, it ought to be their own business, not something to arrest them for.
