Yes and it effects how we see others as well. The trick is to get past this "first impression" situation and realize that we are all special individuals and how we look does not define who we are.

I am secure with myself.I'm old enough I don't have to worry about the opinion of others.I wasn't "cool" when I was 16 and I haven't changed.I can laugh at myself, flaws and all.Life is too short to waste time on things we can't change and people's shallow opinions is one of these things.
