Only if the friend that talk smack, made it right, by telling the other lady the truth. Anything less then that and you selling the friendship short. Realize that friendships are intense, extreme, hard to the core, type relationships, not the disney bs, so if she can't make it right, cut her out of your life.... it well save you bad drama in the long run and plus its your life you don't need people claiming to be your friend and turning around and being your enemy!
