I think we should try a little diplomacy, since we have tried beating them into submission and it hasn't worked. One theory I have heard for solution was to divide the Iran into four states and give each faction their own area. I'm sure there are other non-violent theories for solution out there.

Before anything can be accomplished, two things need to be in place:
1. A goal or objective
2. A plan
Neither are in place at this time. The goal was, originally, democracy. We ousted the despot, an election took place. So clearly, democracy was not the goal. Then, the US stayed in order to train the Iraqi military to allow them to defend their new democracy. But as of last week, Bush has put a stop to the training. So what is the new objective?
As far as a plan goes, it is never a good thing to throw as much as you can at a situation to see if any of it will stick...and that seems to be the only 'plan' in place at this point. So no - as it stands, it is Mission Impossible...

Which mission would that be.
Mission: Invade Afghanistan eradicate Taliban from ruling the country.
Mission: Kill as many Al Queada memebrs in Afghanistan as possible.
Mission: Help establish some form of democratic gov't in Afghanistan.
Mission: Invade Iraq and remove Saddam Hussein from power.
Mission: Kill as many terrorists as possible
Mission: Helps establish some form of democratic govt in Iraq
There are many more "missions" I think you may be confusing "mission accomplishment" with "winning the war"

Yes,, but only through knowledge and intellectual means.
To Paul B. above me: The United States friend was just a mere experiment, Do you honestly believe we beat the British during the revolutionary war? Sorry to say we have all mistaken that. The war of 1812 was a testament to that fact. Then look upon or at our civil war a little closer and really research and study it. It too was an experiment of sorts. Unknowingly to almost all fighting it of course. But it was just the same.

I have no idea. I haven't heard what it is yet, other than vague allusions to a peaceful middle east. BTW that's a part of the world that hasn't been peaceful in recorded history. Funny thing when there's no clear mission. One can declare victory or defeat at any time.

We already have accomplished a lot. Saddam is gone. Iraq has a freely elected government. Most of the country is safe.
Will we stay until Iraq can defend itself? We will stay until at least 2009. Is this enough time? Yes.

It would be funny if the next Democratic President had "Mission Accomplished" printed on White House cocktail napkins...
Or perhaps "Mission Accomplished" would be a nice theme for the inaugural address...
Classic9 (below):
Nice spin! My God, but you can warp reality to suit your position, can't you. You Neo-Cons really refuse to take responsibility for anything, don't you. Pretty sad.
