can I get pregnant on the last day of my period or during my period??>?

Question

As u know i am trying to concieve and well its been frustrating, I was on my period the 2-7th and i had unprotected sex on the last day, and i was just wandering could i be pregnant?? Since my cycles arent regular, one month it will be 28days and next it will be 31 days and some months i wont even get a period, its almost impossible to tell if i am ovulating!! please help me!!!

Yes you can get pregnant on your period (i did)
I don't see why sex during your period is any more gross than sex itself, if the guy doesn't mind(which i have never met one that does) then what is the big deal?
I would just buy one of those ovulation predictors!

It's very unlikely that you would get pregnant the last day of your period, not impossible, but unlikely. You would have to have a very short cycle in order for that to happen, and that's counting the fact that sperm can live for up to 5 days.

Like you my cycles vary by a few days, they are usually anywhere from 29-32 days long. When we were trying for my daughter I just figured out fertile times for the shortest and longest length of me cycle, and then tried within those times. I got pregnant the first month I tried.

With a 28-31 day cycle you most likely ovulate anwhere from day 14 -day 17 of your cycle (women typically ovulate 14 days before theri next period), with day 1 being the first day of your period. Since sperm can live 5 days you would start trying on day 9, and since the egg is good for up to 24 hours, you would try until day 18. That gives you a range of day 9-day 18. Have sex every other day (so that the sperm count stays up) during these 9 days. Good luck.

My sister got pregnant on her sencond to last day of her cycle.
Just because you're on your period doesnt mean you're not ovulating still. You can also have your period and not be ovulating. You might be shedding the ovarian lining and not dropping an egg to be fertalized.

yes, i have a normal 28 day cycle but i happen to ovulate on the last day of my period. I am pregnant right now and i had my period oct.31-nov4, i conceived on the 6th. so it is possible. I've concieved both my children around the last day of my period.

It is possible. Every woman is different. If you are that irregular then you could be ovulating at any time. You should see a Dr to see if there is a medical reason why your periods are so irregular. Good Luck!!!

It is possible to get pregnant. Yes. However, if you're concerned, you can take pregnancy tests sooner. There is also a pill you can take within 72 of intercourse hours that will prevent you from getting pregnant--if indeed you otherwise would be. I hope this helps! :-)

Well you could be if your periods are as irregular as you say they are. It is very unlikely though but it is not unheard of. You will have to wait the two weeks and take a test when your next period is due.

You may want to see a doctor as irregular periods can be a sign of infertility.

No you can not get pregnant while you have your period. Your period is what happens when an egg doesn't get fertilized. You ovulate 14 days after the day of your last period. Also lay off of ciggs and caffeine cause it can lower your sperm count and it also make it more difficult for a women to become pregnant. Good luck.
