I know some of you love it, and Im NOT asking for your advice.

It is UNHEALTY, OBJECTIFYING AND ADDICTIVE.
basically its a drug.

As a woman I feel ashamed by it, and I feel a moral responsibiliy to atleast be a part of something that is against pornography infesting our lives.

Any advice OR information on how I can get started on the movement?

( P.S, I will report the piece of $h!t that gives me an answers not respectful of my question).

I'm asking because seeing some of this stuff makes me terribly depressed.
I just read an excellent book "pornography nation" and have been to afew seminars. Some of the stuff I see and read makes me feel like flat out crying. Its terrible.
I see a need to be personally responsible for putting this stuff back and way from ordinary lives. And children.

I feel that you should live and let live, but if you're against it I would create a group a like-minded individuals and spread your message, maybe via a website or on myspace.

Not to disrespect you, but it is doubtful that such a movement would make much headway.
The government can't even keep regulations on the porn industry, as they are heavily entrenched in the first amendment.

The porn industry grosses 10 times more in revenue than Hollywood, and they therefore can afford the lawyers they need to protect their trade. It would be a most likely unsuccessful uphill battle.

I am a woman, and I am personally not offended by it. My BF and I use it as a tool in our love life occasionally, but we are by no means addicted. But of course, to each their own.

I really don't believe in regulating what someone watches or even makes in the privacy of their home, unless it is child porn or a criminal act, like rape, caught on film. Those I agree are just evil and disgusting, and should be heavily punished.

Although I don't agree with you or your views, you can probably do a search on the internet to find organizations that lobby against the industry.

I would also imagine that the book you mentioned would give you names of groups. Additionally, you can probably contact women's groups and ask them, of course you can also try to start your own group. Best of luck with your endeavour.

If you do not like it stay away from it. Stop trying to run other peoples lives. This is free country with Freedom of Speech no matter what one or several individuals say. So that means you have the right to be out spoken about why you hate it and others have the right to be outspoken about why they like it. I don't care for the cussing you use but I won't report you because you have the right to express yourself anyway you want.

There probably will be a huge price that women will pay in the future with its availability on the Internet especially to young people, but I don't think legally anything can be done except measures to keep it away from children.

I'm sure there are some sites, and I agree it can become as addictive or worse than a drug. There are some organizations out there that fight against it, but I really don't know of a specific one.

As long as it doesn't violate any law there isn't anything you can do about it, except learn to "turn the other cheek." No one is going to force you to watch it. Just like any thing else that you don't agree with.

Simple rules:

1. don't want to gamble --- don't go
2. don't want to smoke -- don't light a cigarette
3. don't want to get drunk -- don't drink booze
4. don't wan to get fat -- put the fork down and back away
5. don't want to look at porn -- turn around

Sounds like you look at a lot of it. Try averting your eyes for a change. You can get that old albatross from around your neck!

If it is so offensive to you, don't look at it. I hate porn and simply choose not to look at it!

Don't buy it and don't get on the internet to look at it.
